Pregnancy food cravings can tell a lot about a person's diet, as the former confessed junk food addict Jessica Simpson has revealed that she is craving vitamin-rich fruit.
Jessica told The Insider, "I'm actually craving a lot of fruit, which is good, and a lot of cantaloupe (rockmelon)." Her favourite snack is "peanut butter and banana, all mashed up together".
Both rockmelon and banana are super-good sources of potassium which helps to regulate acidity, and water levels in the body. They are also both great sources of essential baby growing minerals calcium, magnesium and C and B group vitamins, including folic acid which helps prevent neural tube defects.
Fruit's like bananas also contains soluble fibre which can aid to slow sugar absorption into the blood stream, helping to control your blood sugar levels, and it helps you to stay regular, to avoid pregnancy side effects like haemorrhoids.

But besides her cravings for healthy foods, Simpson admits that she doesn't put down the Twix bar either. Being pregnant can make you fatigued, so it is not uncommon to reach for a quick sugar boost like a chocolate bar.
Her craving for peanut butter is common, as it contains some good fats and protein, but if she could make the switch, there are better nut spreads available such as ABC spread (almond, brazil and cashew nut), or macadamia nut spread which contain greater nutritional value, with added minerals like selenium, and better quality fats.
The 31 year old is promoting her new skin care website BeautyMint, of which she is loving the pregnancy lotions, although she admits "It takes me forever to get ready for bed because I'm putting on all these creams, praying for no stretch marks … putting it on my boobs, belly, thighs. You have to do a lot more things. Then right when I'm about to fall asleep I'm like, 'Oh gosh, I'm starving.' Bring a refrigerator up to the room."
