How to pull a baby tooth

Friday, December 9, 2011

This little girl lost her first loose tooth after her elder brother convinced her to let him tie floss to her wobbly front baby tooth then, after attaching the string to a Nerf gun, he shot it out.

Jessica's reaction of shock and disbelief is hilarious. It's lucky her mother filmed the operation as even her brother looks impressed with the result.

Most 'first' teeth appear from around 6 to 12 months, although it varies from baby to baby — some still have no teeth by one year. Although the front teeth get replaced around the five or six year mark (back teeth between 10 and 12 years), it is still vital that good dental hygiene is enforced.

This means eating the right kinds of foods to strengthen teeth, as well as brushing after meals, and avoiding too much sugary sweets.

While it is recommended that baby teeth fall out on their own, they can sometimes be so awkward that a child will constantly be playing with it, causing discomfort and can be put off their food.

There is no doubt many ways that children find ways to encourage their baby teeth to fall out; tying them to the door handle, then slamming the door is an old classic.
